The brief we were given was to design a contemporary dwelling house for a family providing bright, well lit spaces and taking advantage of the views over Trabreaga Bay. The site is long and narrow with a moderate slope which dictated a stepped approach to the design. Outwardly the proportions and massing are generally traditional however overall the design is very much along modernist principals. In plan the house is divided in three parts, each at different levels due to the sloping site. There are no corridors with brightly lit open plan spaces dominating the interior.
