New detached dwelling house located within the gaeltacht area of Gweedore, Co. Donegal. The dwelling house comprises a floor area of in or around 200m² and occupies the location of a former traditional cottage. The aim of the design is to create a memory of the original cottage where many of the original features and proportions are replicated but not allowing this to dictate the design completely. The two end gables that look out over the ocean create an unexpected element of surprise.
